There is ongoing legislative work on the implementation of European Union directives (2019/1152 and 2019/1158), bringing new solutions for the protection of employee rights, into the Polish legal order. A government bill amending the Labour Code (as well as other laws) is being drafted to implement both directives. Once the draft law is passed and enters into force, solutions will be introduced to improve the labour market situation of women who have given birth. Significant changes will also be made to fixed term and probationary employment contracts.
