In about twenty years, a start will have to be made on decommissioning EDF’s major nuclear power stations. Are the strategies adopted suitable? Are the necessary techniques available? How will decommissioning be funded? Are we ready to meet the challenges of this "major project"? All nuclear installations discharge radioactive substances into the environment. How are these discharges monitored? Is their impact on the environment and human health well understood? Such are the main questions to which this report - a sequel to four earlier studies - seeks to provide answers.
