Quantum technologies play a key role in Switzerland’s vision for the future. Universities and businesses have been working in this field for many years. The launch of the Swiss Quantum Initiative (SQI) and the Open Quantum Institute in Geneva is intended to further expand national capabilities in quantum technology. However, the growing interest in these technologies from the worlds of politics and business is counterbalanced by the fact that they are difficult to understand and have far-reaching societal implications. For these reasons, TA-SWISS has commissioned a study on technology assessment on this topic.
