Building on its ambition to strengthen engagement at the European level, the Rathenau Instituut will further explore this year how to position its work within European policy and research discussions and how to deepen collaboration with European partners. Following these ambitions, on 8-9 December 2025, together with several other EPTA members, we organised a workshop in Brussels on EU policy and the energy transition, combined with a meeting on Science for Policy. The aim was to strengthen networks with key science and policy actors from EU institutions and across Europe, gain insights into EU policymaking, and exchange ideas on Europe’s energy future.
