The aim of the paper is to discuss the draft bill, introduced by a popular legislative initiative, that proposes to restrict retail trade on Sundays in Poland. The authors introduce survey results on Sunday shopping (frequency of Sunday shopping, profile of Sunday shoppers, attitude towards proposed shopping restrictions etc.). Particular attention is given to the socio-economic consequences of proposed shopping restrictions, including condition of labour market, predicted change in shopping behaviour, predicted changes in free time activities.
