The article looks at the participatory budgeting, i.e. a process of deliberation and decision-making, in which citizens decide how to allocate a part of a municipal budget. The author discusses selected aspects of the participatory budgeting in the Polish local government units, including its legal basis, origins, financial scope, principles and stages, as well as assesses its outcomes.
