High defence spending has become a reality from which there is no turning back. However, the consequences for the economy and labour market may vary depending on whether these funds are mainly directed towards foreign purchases or used for intensive investment in the domestic arms industry, scientific research and dual-use technologies. It will also be crucial to establish whether Poland has the organisational capacity to ensure that innovations in the defence sector permeate other areas of the economy effectively.
