Homeschooling — regulatory challenges
BAS (2024) INFOS 7(320), Homeschooling — regulatory challenges
Homeschooling, understood as the fulfillment of compulsory education requirements outside the traditional school environment, has gained a community of active, well-organized proponents and is experiencing growing societal reach in Poland. Its expansion is currently driven to a significant extent by the operation of a new type of institution — non-public schools that either exclusively enroll homeschooled students or provide services to them on a large scale. Establishing an appropriate legal framework and principles for the allocation of public funding that adequately reflect the specific nature of such institutions constitutes a considerable regulatory challenge and remains a subject of ongoing debate.
