Smoking, as well as the use of alternative tobacco products and exposure to tobacco smoke, carries serious health risks. Smoking generates significant direct and indirect costs on an individual and societal level. Therefore, stronger measures should be taken to reduce the prevalence of smoking and reduce exposure to tobacco smoke in line with the MPOWER package developed by the WHO, as well as adopt an approach aimed at ensuring that new people do not start smoking, and make Poland a tobacco-free country.
