Sunday 16th March

For those joining for skiing, or already arriving on Sunday evening at Geneva, we will meet for a drink and dinner at the Lobby of the Hotel Ambassador, 21, Quai des Bergues, 1201 Genève*, at 8 pm.y.

Monday 17th March

10.00: Meeting kick-off at the Hotel Ambassador, Geneva. Chaired by Sergio Bellucci, TA-SWISS (the Hotel Ambassador is approximately 15 minutes away from Geneva airport by taxi)

10:10: News from EPTA members and associates, especially current and future work programmes (all)

11:00: Subject matters for the next EPTA conference (Research on Humans, October 2003 in Bern). Guests: Dr. Shyama Kuruvilla, WHO, Research Policy and Cooperation, Geneva; Dr. Stefan Susini and Alessandro Lampis, Edena Science and University of Geneva

13:00: Lunch

Tuesday 18th March, CERN Visit

09:00: Minibus leaves from the Hotel Ambassador to the CERN, European Organization for Nuclear Research, Geneva

09:30: Welcome to CERN by Paola Catapano, Events, Partnerships and European projects (Reception Building 33)

09:45: Visit ofthe Anti-proton decelerator at the CERN site, Meyrin (where anti-atoms were first achieved and are now produced on an industrial scale) the CERN Computing Centre (where the web was born and the Grid is taking off).

11:00: Conference room - Short Presentations on Technology Transfer activities at CERN by Roberto Amendolia, CERN (Technology Transfer officer) from the Web to the Grid (Francois Grey, Head of the Grid Open Lab, CERN and R. Cailliau, CERN- Co-inventor of the www) - the latter to be confirmed. Discussion on prospective impact of new technologies on society, the web case, the lessons learned.

14:00: End of Visit and Transfer to the Airport
